Website Terms of Use (United States)

1. Who we are and acceptance

These Terms of Use apply to waitlistusa.lawryse.com and the United States edition of lawryse.com (together, the "site"), which are operated by Lawryse (Pty) Limited, a company registered in South Africa (Registration Number 2026/277972/07). By using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. The waitlist

• Joining the waitlist is free and is an expression of interest only. It is not an application, an offer or a contract, and it does not guarantee that you will be offered membership, or when.
• Membership terms, features and prices for the United States are not final and may change before launch. Nothing on the site is a binding price quotation.
• You must give accurate information and register only yourself, not another person without their permission.
• Joining the waitlist is not a subscription. We will email you once when membership opens, and we send further updates only if you have chosen to receive them. You can stop any email at any time by replying "unsubscribe" or writing to enquiries@lawryse.com.
• You can ask us to remove you from the waitlist at any time. We may remove entries that are inaccurate, duplicated, abusive or misused.

3. Not legal advice, and no lawyer referral

The site publishes general legal information and public education. It is not legal advice and does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Lawryse or any attorney. Laws differ from state to state and change over time, and an article may be out of date or may not apply to your situation. Each article states the law it covers, for example federal law or a particular state. Please speak to an attorney licensed in your state about your own situation.

Lawryse is not a law firm, does not practice law and is not a lawyer referral service. We do not recommend, refer you to or vouch for any attorney. Information about attorneys, where it appears, is supplied by them, is not an endorsement, and may be attorney advertising under some states' rules. Past results described anywhere do not guarantee a similar outcome.

4. Our content and intellectual property

The site, the Lawryse name and logo, the design and the editorial content belong to Lawryse or its licensors. You may read the content, share a normal link and quote a reasonable extract for non-commercial purposes with accurate attribution. You may not copy, republish, scrape, resell or build a commercial dataset from the content, or remove attribution, without our written permission.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, overload the site or bypass security.
• Do not collect personal information or email addresses from the site for spam, resale or profiling.
• Do not impersonate anyone or misrepresent who you are.
• Do not use the site for anything unlawful.

6. Feedback and survey answers

If you give us feedback or answer our survey, you agree that we may use it to improve Lawryse without obligation to you. We handle any personal information in it as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Links to other sites

The site may link to government, court and other third-party sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.

8. Copyright concerns

If you believe content on the site infringes your copyright, email enquiries@lawryse.com with your contact details, a description of the work and where it appears on the site, a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We will review and respond promptly.

9. Availability and changes to the site

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access, permanent publication or that every page works on every device.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Lawryse disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some states do not allow certain disclaimers, so they may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Lawryse and its directors, employees and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of or reliance on the site, and our total liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or any right you have under the consumer protection laws of your state.

12. Governing law and disputes

Please contact us first at enquiries@lawryse.com so we can try to resolve any concern informally. These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have non-exclusive jurisdiction, but nothing in these terms limits your rights under mandatory consumer protection law where you live or your right to bring a claim in a small claims court in your home state.

13. Changes to these terms and contact
