Membership referrals only

This programme rewards a Member for introducing another firm to Lawryse membership. It does not reward the referral of a client, legal matter or professional work and does not affect LARIA routing.

1. How the programme forms part of membership

These Referral Programme Terms form part of the Dashboard Membership Terms. A Member participates by using its referral link or code. No separate cash commission agreement is created.

2. Qualifying referral

A referral qualifies when a new, unrelated firm uses the referring Member’s valid referral method, completes a first paid Lawryse membership and the payment clears. Lawryse’s records determine attribution, subject to correction of a clear error.

  • The referred firm must not already hold or previously have held a Lawryse membership unless Lawryse expressly approves a reactivation campaign.
  • Self-referrals, duplicate referrals, referrals within the same firm or controlled group, manipulated identities and fraudulent transactions do not qualify.
  • Only one referring Member may receive credit for a referred firm.
  • A referral must be recorded before or during the referred firm’s initial signup.

3. Credit value

The referring Member earns an advertising credit equal to 10% of the referred firm’s first paid annual membership amount after discounts and excluding VAT, refunds, reversals and chargebacks. The credit is calculated only after the payment clears.

4. Permitted use and expiry

  • The credit may be used only for eligible Lawryse Advertising bookings.
  • It may not be used for membership, Guest Articles, Research Contributor payments or any legal service.
  • It is valid for 12 months from award, rolls over within that period if partly unused and expires automatically thereafter.
  • It is non-transferable and has no cash value, except where mandatory law requires a different remedy.
  • VAT on an Advertising booking is calculated according to the legally applicable treatment shown at checkout.

5. Cancellation, refund or invalid referral

Lawryse may void the unused portion of a credit if the referred payment is refunded, reversed or charged back, or if the referral is duplicate, self-referred, fraudulent or otherwise ineligible. Lawryse will not ordinarily reverse a portion already validly used before the problem became known, but may suspend further programme use where fraud is suspected.

6. No client or matter referrals

The programme concerns Lawryse membership only. No person is paid or rewarded for directing a client, prospective client, legal enquiry, instruction or professional mandate to a legal practitioner. Credits do not buy directory endorsement, LARIA priority or professional work.

7. Responsible promotion

Members must promote Lawryse honestly and may not send unlawful spam, make misleading income or outcome claims, impersonate Lawryse, bid on protected brand terms without permission or use referral material in a way that breaches professional rules.

8. Changes and termination

Lawryse may change or end the programme prospectively on reasonable notice. A valid credit already awarded retains its stated expiry unless fraud, reversal or mandatory law requires an adjustment.

9. Law, privacy and contact

Lawryse processes referral identifiers, payment status and credit records under its Privacy Policy. South African law governs these terms. Referral-credit, payment and advertising-use queries: accounts@lawryse.com.
