Separate service
Advertising is paid upfront and remains subject to availability, material deadlines and Lawryse’s content approval. Guest Articles are not advertising and have separate terms.
1. Scope and acceptance
These Advertising Terms and Booking Conditions apply to Lawryse advertising, sponsorship and promotional bookings, including text advertisements, sidebar placements, banners, pop-ups or slide-ins, newsletter advertisements, featured directory placements, Sponsored Insight poll sponsorships and Video Shorts.
The advertiser accepts these terms by reviewing the booking summary, ticking the acceptance box and proceeding to payment. The person booking confirms authority to bind the advertiser.
2. Booking summary
The booking summary records the product, duration or package, proposed campaign dates or sends, base price, applicable membership discount, VAT treatment, total payable, material deadline and special commercial details. It forms part of the agreement and prevails on a booking-specific commercial detail.
3. Prices, discounts and VAT
Advertising base prices exclude VAT. Lawryse is not currently registered as a VAT vendor and no VAT is presently charged. When Lawryse becomes registered, VAT will be added at the applicable rate. The booking flow will display the VAT-exclusive price, VAT amount and total VAT-inclusive amount before payment.
Eligible Premium and Gold advertising discounts apply as shown for the active plan. They do not apply to Guest Articles, production work or another separately quoted service unless expressly stated. Discounts are applied to the eligible base price before VAT is calculated.
4. Payment and confirmation
Advertising is paid upfront. Successful payment generates a booking confirmation and invoice or receipt. Payment confirms the commercial booking but publication remains subject to availability, timely receipt of suitable material and content approval.
5. Availability and campaign dates
Space and dates are subject to availability. Campaigns normally run for consecutive calendar days unless the booking summary states otherwise. Newsletter bookings relate to the agreed send or package. Sponsored Insight relates to an eligible poll and not to a guaranteed response count.
6. Material and deadlines
The advertiser must provide complete, accurate and technically suitable material by the deadline and comply with supplied specifications. If material is late, incomplete or unsuitable, Lawryse may reschedule to the next reasonable available date. Advertiser delay does not automatically extend original dates or create a cash-refund right.
7. Content approval
Lawryse may request reasonable changes and may decline, pause or remove content that is unlawful, misleading, unsubstantiated, defamatory, discriminatory, infringing, technically harmful, professionally inappropriate or likely to damage platform integrity. Minor technical resizing or formatting may be performed without altering the substance.
8. Advertiser warranties
- Claims, professional descriptions, prices and factual statements are accurate and substantiable.
- The advertiser holds all rights and permissions for supplied copy, images, video, logos, trade marks and links.
- The advertisement and linked service comply with law, professional rules, confidentiality, privacy and intellectual-property rights.
- The material does not imply Lawryse endorsement, guaranteed outcome or preferential LARIA treatment.
- The advertiser remains responsible for supplied material and external destinations.
9. Sponsored Insight
Sponsored Insight is clearly identified sponsorship of a Lawryse poll. Lawryse retains editorial control over the topic, wording, choices, timing, results, analysis and presentation. Sponsorship does not buy a result, editorial conclusion, favourable mention or minimum response count.
10. Video Shorts and production work
A Video Short booking may include a placement-only component and separately quoted production work. Additional work will not be charged without agreement. Production timing and deliverables will be stated in the booking summary or quotation.
11. Cancellation by the advertiser
The advertiser may request cancellation in writing. Any adjustment will reasonably consider notice, completed work, reserved inventory, committed third-party costs and whether the placement can be resold. Where value remains, Lawryse will ordinarily offer an account credit rather than cash, subject to mandatory law.
12. Rescheduling, replacement and credits
If Lawryse cannot deliver a confirmed placement for a reason within its control, it will ordinarily offer a reasonable alternative date, equivalent placement or account credit for the affected value. If part of a campaign has run, the adjustment is proportionate to the undelivered value. Unless stated otherwise, a service credit is valid for 12 months, non-transferable and has no cash value.
13. Complaints and interruptions
Lawryse may pause content while investigating a complaint, legal concern, technical issue or reputational risk. Brief interruptions caused by maintenance, third-party systems or events beyond reasonable control do not automatically create a full adjustment. Material delivery failure will be addressed reasonably.
14. Performance
Unless the booking summary expressly guarantees a measurable delivery, Lawryse does not guarantee impressions, clicks, poll responses, leads, enquiries, instructions, conversions, search rankings or commercial results. Analytics may be affected by privacy controls, blockers and third-party tools.
15. Intellectual property licence
The advertiser grants Lawryse a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, resize, format, display and technically distribute the material for the booked campaign, related records and reasonable campaign reporting. Ownership otherwise remains with the rights holder.
16. Privacy and records
Lawryse processes booking, contact, acceptance, invoice, payment, campaign and communication records under its Privacy Policy for contractual, accounting, security, dispute and compliance purposes.
17. Liability, law and contact
To the extent permitted by law, Lawryse is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, business, reputation, anticipated enquiries or instructions, or an external service. Nothing excludes a right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. South African law governs these terms. Advertising, booking, payment and invoice queries: accounts@lawryse.com.
